Gideon by Priscilla Shirer ~ Week One

Well we've finished up with week one of our study on Gideon.

What do you think of it so far?  I'm impressed with Priscilla's teaching and I'm glad this format is similar to the Beth Moore studies I'm used to doing.

This week let's share our thoughts on these questions from the 5 days of homework.  You can chose to answer as many as you'd like.  I don't want you to feel overwhelmed in participating.  :)

Day 1: God's People in Paradise
How do you see the Deliverance Principle impacting your life (see p.12 and Digging Deeper I to help remind you of the terms vassals and suzerain.

Day 2: You Again?
Have you experienced a problem that was an extension of a difficulty someone didn't fully conquer in the past? (p. 16)

Day 3: God's Story, My Story
What realm of your life do you think God wants you to concentrate on while doing this study? (p. 26)

Day 4: Empowered to Act
How can we remain true to biblical beliefs and still be united in the body of Christ today?  What do you think we must not do? (p. 30)

Day 5: Turning the Tide
How can you deliberately position yourself to learn? (p. 36)

God bless all of you and if you have any prayer requests please let me know.  I'm honored to pray with you!

  1. Hi Karla, This is Michelle. I am still reading this week's lessons but I just wanted to let you know I am taking part. I'm not sure how good I will be at this...I'm not familiar with much of it...bad on me. So with that...

Day 1 - how do the principles impact my life? I'm not sure how to answer this. God wants us to love Him and follow him "actively" not passively, and fully. I am ashamed to say that I don't really know how to do this. I believe my life (emotionally and spiritually) would be quite different (and more fulfilling) if I knew exactly how to do this.

Day 2 - I wasn't brought up in a religious family and I feel that has had an impact on me today. I want my children to be brought up knowing God and following Him but until I know how to do that I can't teach my children. So I would say my family's lack of religion early on in my childhood has a huge impact on my inability to teach my children to be followers now and for them to teach their children later on.
